P!nk

Alecia Beth Moore who performs under the stage name Pink, or P!nk, is a two-time Grammy-winning American actress and singer-songwriter who gained prominence in 2000, has had continued success around the world, and to date has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She released her first single “There You Go” and first album, the R&B-oriented Can’t Take Me Home, in 2000 via LaFace Records, which garnered commercial success.

Her more pop rock-oriented second studio album, Missundaztood, was released in 2001 and is her biggest seller to date. Featuring the hits “Get The Party Started,” “Just Like a Pill,” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” it began a marked shift in the sound of her music. Pink soon followed up with her third album, Try This. It was met with disappointing sales upon its release in November 2003, although critically the album received mostly positive praise. After a brief break from music, Pink returned in April 2006 with her fourth album, I’m Not Dead.

Initially upon its release I’m Not Dead, like her previous album, critically received mostly good reviews, but quickly fell off the charts. Pink’s career was revived in 2007 when the success of “U + Ur Hand” and “Who Knew” caused a resurgence of commercial success of I’m Not Dead.

Her fifth album, Funhouse was released in late October 2008 and was preceded by her first solo number one on the Hot 100, “So What“. Since its release in October, Funhouse has been certified platinum in the U.S. and sold over 3.5 million worldwide. The second single from the album, “Sober” has also become a U.S. Top 20 hit, peaking at number 15 on the Hot 100 making Funhouse Pink’s first album since Missundaztood to have its first two successive singles peak in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Beyonce Halo lyrics

Songwriters: Bogart, Evan Kidd; Knowles, Beyonce Gisselle; Tedder, Ryan Benjamin;

Remember those walls I built
Well baby they’re tumbling down
And they didn’t even put up a fight
They didn’t even make a sound
I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It’s like I’ve been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin’
It’s the risk that I’m takin’
I ain’t never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I’m looking now
I’m surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you’re my saving grace
You’re everything I need and more
It’s written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won’t fade away

I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
Woah…

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You’re the only one that I want
Think I’m addicted to your light
I swore I’d never fall again
But this don’t even feel like falling
Gravity can’t forget
To pull me to the ground again

Feels like I’ve been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin’
The risk that I’m takin’
I’m never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I’m looking now
I’m surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you’re my saving grace
You’re everything I need and more
It’s written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won’t fade away

I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo)

Halooooo ouuuu
Halooooo ouuuu
Halooooo ouuuu
Ouuuuu ouuuuu ouuuuu

Everywhere I’m looking now
I’m surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you’re my saving grace
You’re everything I need and more
It’s written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won’t fade away

I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo
I can feel your halo (halo) halo
I can see your halo (halo) halo

Britney Spears first song Hit me Baby One More Time finally started to lose steam on the singles and album charts, Spears was ready to release her follow-up. Oops!…I Did It Again appeared in the spring of 2000, and the title track was an instant smash, racing into the Top Ten. The album entered the charts at number one and sold over a million copies in its first week of release, setting a new record for single-week sales by a female artist.

For her next album, Spears looked ahead to a not-so-distant future when both she and much of her audience would be growing up. Released in late 2001, Britney tried to present the singer as a more mature young woman, and was accompanied by mild hints that her personal life wasn’t always completely puritanical. It became her third straight album to debut at number one, although this time around the singles weren’t as successful; “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,” and “Overprotected” all missed the Top Ten. In early 2002, Spears’ feature-film debut, Crossroads, hit theaters, but its commercial performance was somewhat disappointing; moreover, her romance with Timberlake fizzled not long after. Spears next made a cameo appearance in Mike Myers’ Austin Powers: Goldmember, and contributed a remix of “Boys” to the soundtrack. Meanwhile, sales of Britney stalled at four million copies, perhaps in part because a new breed of teenage female singer/songwriters, like Michelle Branch and Avril Lavigne, was emerging as an alternative to the highly packaged teen queens. Spears took a break from recording and performing for several months, and began work on a new album in early 2003. The results, In the Zone, reflected a wish to be taken seriously as a mature (though still highly sexualized) adult. Predictably, it topped the charts and launched several singles into orbit, including the musically adventurous “Toxic,” “Everytime,” and “Me Against the Music.”

2005 was no less eventful for Spears. She released Greatest Hits: My Prerogative that January, but it was the announcement of her pregnancy that really garnered the headlines. Sean Preston Federline was born in September, and a bidding war ensued for first rights to the baby photos. As the hubbub surrounding Sean’s birth continued, Britney released a remix album just in time for the holiday season.

2006–2007: Personal and professional struggles, and Blackout

2008–present: Conservatorship, custody settlement and Circus

In February 2009, Spears achieved further success in solidifying her comeback by having the second single of off her comeback album, “Circus” rise to number one on the Top 40 Radio Chart, making it the first time Spears has achieved back-to-back number one hits on the Top 40 Chart along with her comeback single, “Womanizer”. This makes her fifth number one song on the chart, putting her in a tie for second place for most number one Top 40 songs in the Mainstream Top 40′s sixteen year history. Mariah Carey is in first place with six number one songs.
In April 2009, Spears declared her support for same-sex marriage to the media, following a controversial incident on Miss America where contestant Carrie Prejean, representing California, expressed her disapproval of same-sex unions. The message left by Spears on her Twitter page read “Love is love! People should be able to do whatever makes them happy.

Lady Gaga performs on “American Idol”

ladygaga-americanidolLady Gaga Shows Her Flashiest “Poker Face”‘ On “American Idol”
The flamboyant pop star dazzles with her alien-disco performance art.
“American Idol” has never seen anything like Lady Gaga. The show has had plenty of musical guests over the years, and yes, there was that frantic, flame-haired, foot-stomping visit from past winner Fantasia that made Simon’s jaw drop last year, but that was nothing compared to the alien-disco vibe Gaga brought on Wednesday night’s elimination show.
The “Just Dance” singer, known for her disdain for pants and a unique fashion sense that’s been described as “alien drag queen” in some quarters, left the audience a bit stunned with an over-the-top performance of her latest #1 hit single, “Poker Face,” on the typically middle-of-the-road singing competition.

Britney is back

Posted by admin On May - 1 - 2009

britney-come-backBritney Spears launching her US tour in New Orleans last night in a suit looking like solid gold.

Perhaps Britney Spears was exploring different sides of her personality at her comeback show. Then again, she may have just been trying to find the right costume to flatter what is a rather fuller figure these days.

The 27-year-old singer’s fans didn’t seem to mind. More than 16,000 were there to welcome her back in New Orleans for her first tour for five years.

Los Angeles Times critic Ann Powers wrote: ‘Her singing was dominated by a backing track.

‘Her moves were nothing special – defined by much strutting and stripper-like shimmying, with the minimum amount of acrobatics to prove her mettle as a dance-pop queen.’

MTV’s James Montgomery said: ‘At times, Britney herself is almost dwarfed by the spectacle… She brought the circus to her hometown, and it was a huge, sold-out, screaming success.

Britney is hoping the tour will cement her comeback after a difficult few years, which saw her shave her head, have a messy custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline and was hospitalised twice for psychiatric evaluation.

Britney has been hard at work getting her body back after her out-of-shape appearance at the 2007 MTV Music Video Awards.

She has spent months in the dance studio practicing for the tour with the help of choreographers JaQuel Knight – who choreographed Beyonce Knowles’s Single Ladies – and Tony Testa.

The Circus tour runs for four months and covers the US, Canada and England, with plans to expand to the rest of Europe.

She will perform six gigs in London’s O2 arena from June 3 to 14.
